Wordpress is one of the best things to happen to online publishers in the past decade. The platform lets anyone easily create a website, but more importantly, it’s open enough to allow for a huge number of expansions to improve your website’s capabilities. Having the right WordPress content marketing plugins is vital to achieving your goals, whether they be hosting a webinar series, maintaining a blog, or promoting your new e-learning program.
Content marketing is the broad term for delivering good, quality content to your readers. Whatever your topic, the goal of content marketing is to define who your audience is, attract them by telling them what you offer, and then deliver on that promise in a way that is engaging, informative and interesting.
The more quality tools you have at your disposal, the more productive you can be at delivering quality content to your audience – and that’s always a good thing. Below are ten of our favorite WordPress plugins for content marketing.
Crazyegg WordPress Plugin
Crazyegg gives you the ability to improve your website rapidly through actionable heatmaps, scrollmaps and analytics. I use the Crazyegg scrollmap feature along with other various analytic data to track the performance of my content marketing efforts. I highly recommend using this plugin and the service if you want to improve how you deliver content to users.
VISIT WEBSITEEditorial Calendar
While a lot of WordPress content marketing plugins might help you with your website appearance or content, they rely on you to publish that content. Editorial Calendar lets you arrange your posts on a calendar with a simple drag-and-drop interface to quickly determine when each should be published, whether you are there to press the button or not.
VISIT WEBSITEContent Scheduler
Opposite of Editorial Calendar, Content Scheduler completes the publishing-timing set of WordPress content marketing plugins. Content can be set to automatically expire at any time you want, and you can even notify people of the expiration when it happens.
VISIT WEBSITEMyCurator
MyCurator offers a means for content marketers to curate content directly through WordPress. The plugin works in the background to search for new articles (and inspiration), for your ongoing content curation. MyCurator includes images and the full text to the original post, as well as a means to add attribution. This plugin is a major time saver because stuff like adding comments, grabbing quotes, images and other media for curated posts gets done a lot quicker. Definitely worth a gander.
VISIT WEBSITEGoogle Analyticator
Google Analyticator is a perfect example of WordPress content marketing plugins just taking some of the headache out of getting a site up and running. Rather than having to go and insert Google Analytics code into your site template to begin recording the valuable information that the service provides, Google Analyticator automates the process with just a simple menu. As a bonus, it also includes widgets that help you quickly reference and display Google Analytics information directly on your blog or just in the admin area.
VISIT WEBSITEGravity Forms
While a form creation tool might not seem to be one of the best WordPress plugins for content marketing at first glance, an eye-catching and attractive form can make your website appear more professional and capture leads who visit you in a much more efficient manner than you might have otherwise. Gravity Forms makes that possible.
VISIT WEBSITEOnlyWire for WordPress
Social media has grown drastically more important over the past several years, and is likely to only get more important. When it comes to WordPress content marketing plugins that help you integrate with social media, OnlyWire is among the best. Every time you update your website, the plugin will automatically submit your post to every single social media site you told OnlyWire to use, without any intervention on your own part. That’s essentially free traffic and links to your site with no work!
VISIT WEBSITEWhich WordPress content marketing plugins are best for your website depends on what your goals are, but no matter what, there will also be a number of WordPress content marketing plugins that can save you time, save you effort, save you headaches, and most importantly, help you make money!

Way cool! Some very valid points! I appreciate you penning this article and also the rest of the site is really good.
Steve, Have you used OnlyWire? I am asking because I am getting ready to install it, but I see mixed reviews. I really like the idea, but I am wondering if it works well.
Thank you,
George
Thanks for sharing this list, Steve! I use Autoblogged WordPress Plugin (from autoblogged.com) to get excerpts from RSS feeds, Youtube, Vimeo videos and more.
Hi Steve, very nice article and resources.
Know about other plugins but good to know about InboundWriter for WordPress…it’s looks very cool and useful.
Keep it up…
Hi Steve, thanks so much for putting up this list – it’s really useful! For me, a Word Press Blog is really becoming a central figure for Content Marketing, so having an arsenal of plugins and tools to help make that content more compelling and more effective is great. The first three plugins are of real interest, so I’ll be checking those out. Out of interest, when it comes to plug-ins for voting polls, do you have a preference? I’ve used a few and have mixed feelings. It’d be interesting to hear your thoughts.
Great list! We like to use CurateThis. It’s super easy to use. We use it to feed content into our CMS, organize it, and then republish it back to WordPress.
This allows my team to organize topic ideas behind the scenes topic ideas before you even decide to create an article about it.
I have yet to find a great directory plugin for wordpress. As a publisher, it’s an essential jumping off point for content also. If you find one you look, let me know!
